Looking ahead to this weekends fixtures LBM Belfast Giants forward Pat Bateman has declared himself ready for the challenge of the Edinburgh Capitals this Saturday (faceoff 7pm) at the Odyssey Arena.
So far this season, both sides have met on seven occasions with the Giants taking 100% of the points. In total, 50 goals have been scored in games between both sides with the LBM Giants scoring 42 of those. Belfast and Edinburgh last met in Belfast on 16th January in a rough game that saw the Giants win 3-1 after five fighting majors had been handed out. The last time these two sides met it was somewhat of a one sided affair with the Giants running out 9-0 winners in Edinburgh on Sunday 17th January thanks to an Evan Cheverie hat trick.
“We’ll be focusing on Edinburgh and only Edinburgh until after Saturday’s game and only then can we shift our focus onto Sunday’s game with Coventry.” said Bateman “We may have gotten the better of Edinburgh so far (this season) however we have seen the damage that they can cause with victories over both Nottingham and the league leaders, Coventry. If we start to think about Sunday’s game and let up on Saturday night then Edinburgh will have no hesitation in punishing us.”
Faceoff tomorrow night between the Giants and the Capitals is at 7pm and doors will be open from 6pm. Tickets can be purchased from the Odyssey Arena Box Office on (028) 9073 9074 or via Ticketmaster by clicking here
