Full Rosters Confirmed for Inaugural World Cup in Belfast
With little over a month until the first-ever 3ICE World Cup arrives in Belfast, the eight participating rosters that will take part in the landmark event on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July 2026 have been confirmed.
Arriving in Belfast as part of Northern Ireland’s ‘America 250’ celebrations, which commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, 3ICE is a professional ice hockey league built around the skill-driven three-on-three format of the game. With two eight-minute periods of continuous play, the format emphasises speed, creativity, and attacking hockey, making it an immediate hit with fans and broadcasters worldwide.
The two-day, eight-team international tournament will see 3ICE Great Britain, 3ICE USA, 3ICE Canada, 3ICE Sweden, 3ICE Finland, 3ICE Switzerland, 3ICE Germany, and 3ICE Austria go head-to-head for global bragging rights at the home of the Belfast Giants.
The eight lineups feature players with an abundance of experience and a varied range, and Adam Keefe’s 3ICE Great Britain roster features an exciting mix of proven Elite League talent, emerging prospects, and NHL pedigree, all suited to the skill of the three-on-three format. Sheffield Steelers netminder Lucas Brine is joined by Guildford Flames forward Josh Waller, Cardiff Devils’ Bayley Harewood, and Belfast Giants’ stalwart Ciaran Long, while Logan Neilson brings a wealth of experience following spells with the Nottingham Panthers, Sheffield Steelers, and Fife Flyers. The roster is further strengthened by Harrison Blaisdell, who was selected in the 2019 NHL Draft, and 20-year-old Cameron Briere, who had a successful first season of NCAA hockey with the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants and 3ICE Great Britain, said: “It’s a really exciting group we’ve put together for this tournament, and one that gives us a strong blend of speed, skill and competitiveness for the 3ICE format. We’ve got players who can make things happen offensively, guys who bring energy and edge to the game, and a level of experience that should serve us well in a fast, open style of hockey. It’s a format that rewards quick thinking and creativity, and I think this group is well-equipped to embrace that. On top of that, to be able to do it in Belfast makes it that bit more special for everyone involved."
Other standout names and familiar faces from across the Elite League and NHL that will skate out in Belfast include Zach Boychuk, Chase Pearson, Jayce Hawryluk, Teemu Pulkkinen, Jon Matsumoto, Oliver Kylington, Dmytro Timashov, and Patrick Grasso, among a host of other stars from across the ice hockey world.
Commenting on his return to Belfast with 3ICE USA, former Giants forward Patrick Grasso said: "I’m super excited for the chance to play in front of the fans in Belfast again. It’s an honour to represent your country in any format, especially one as thrilling as 3ICE. The guaranteed rivalry games and the fast-paced nature of the format are sure to provide some fireworks for everyone in attendance.”
The 3ICE World Cup will also feature an outstanding lineup of head coaches, blending elite NHL prowess with proven leadership at the highest levels of the game. The international roster includes three-time Stanley Cup champion Ken Daneyko of the USA, four-time Stanley Cup winner Larry Murphy of Canada, two-time Stanley Cup winner Johnny Oduya of Sweden, Finland’s Olympic medallist Raimo Helminen, and Adam Keefe, head coach of the Belfast Giants, and one of the most successful figures in UK ice hockey, who will head up 3ICE Great Britain. Completing the coaching lineup are Christian Wohlwend of Switzerland, Ron Pasco of Germany, and Austria’s Ryan Kinasewich, who bring a wealth of experience from across the globe to what promises to be a landmark event.
E.J. Johnston, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 3ICE, commented: “The 3ICE World Cup is a game-changer. We are putting the best part of hockey on a global stage for the world to enjoy, and there is absolutely nothing like it anywhere. Hall of Fame coaches combined with elite players from across the top leagues, including the NHL, EIHL, Sweden’s SHL, Finland’s Liiga, Germany’s DEL, and more. This will be a country vs country, best-on-best spectacle that will blow minds and drop jaws. Genuinely, any team can win the whole thing."
