Belfast Giants Confirm Signing of Patrick Guay for 2026/27 Season
The Belfast Giants are proud to confirm the signing of 24-year-old forward Patrick Guay for the 2026/27 season.
The younger brother of recently re-signed Nicolas Guay, Patrick joins the Giants from Västerås IK of the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan, where he contributed 21 total points in 45 games. Selected 145th overall in round five of the 2022 NHL draft by the Las Vegas Golden Knights, Guay arrives in Belfast with significant AHL and ECHL experience, having made more than 170 appearances for the Henderson Silver Knights, Savannah Ghost Pirates, and Maine Mariners between 2022 and 2025.
Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: “Patrick has come highly recommended and is someone we’re very excited to bring in next season. Already, Patrick has picked up invaluable experience across some respected teams and leagues, so I think he’ll be the perfect fit for us. It’s always special to play on the same team as a family member, so I’m excited to see what Patrick and Nic [Guay] can do together next season.”
Before turning professional ahead of the 2022/23 season, Patrick had a successful QMJHL career, representing Sherbrooke Phoenix and Charlottetown Islanders between 2018 and 2022. Across four seasons, Guay notched an impressive 245 points in just 238 games, including a standout 2021/22 campaign, during which he tallied 132 points in just 83 outings.
Commenting on joining the Belfast Giants, Patrick Guay said: "I am super excited to join a winning organisation. Everything I've heard is extremely positive and I think the Giants will be a great fit for me. I look forward to bringing more championships to Belfast and playing in front of a great fanbase."
