Nicolas Guay Returns for Second Season in Belfast
The Belfast Giants are pleased to confirm the re-signing of 26-year-old Nicolas Guay for the 2026/27 season.
From Châteauguay, the Canadian forward returns for his second season as a Giant, following an impressive first campaign in teal. During the Elite League-winning 2025/26 season, Guay recorded 64 total points in 74 appearances and was named Coaches’ Player of the Year.
Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: “Nic had a great first season with us, so to be getting him back for another year is a real boost. He’s a versatile player who puts in big shifts on both sides of the puck, and he really grew into his role and became an important player for us last year. I don't doubt that Nic will go from strength to strength this season, so I’m pleased to see him back in teal.”
Before arriving in Belfast, Guay played three seasons in the AHL and ECHL, making more than 180 appearances between 2022 and 2025. Guay’s first taste of European hockey came during the 2024/25 season when he was named an alternate captain of Slovakian side HC Nové Zámky, recording five total points in 11 outings.
Commenting on re-signing for the 2026/27 season, Nicolas Guay said: "I'm extremely happy to be coming back to Belfast. As soon as I stepped on home ice, I knew hockey in Belfast was something special, and I can't wait to win more games and lift more trophies with the Giants."
