Conway Back in Belfast for 2026/27 Season
The Belfast Giants are pleased to confirm the return of 31-year-old Scott Conway for the 2026/27 season.
The 2026/27 season will be Conway’s fifth as a Giant, having first arrived in Belfast ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. The Basingstoke-born forward, who led from the front as one of the club’s alternate captains last season, has cemented himself as a prolific presence on the scoresheet, notching over 345 total points in teal.
Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: “Cons [Scott Conway] is an out and out winner, and someone who has been invaluable to this organisation since he arrived. He lives and breathes Belfast, so giving him an ‘A’ again last season felt like the natural next step for someone who has given a lot and has a lot more to give to the club. Last season, Cons, Goody [David Goodwin], and J.J. (Piccinich) were a very effective top line for us, so having them all re-signed for 2026/27 gives us a great platform to build our offence around.”
Before joining the Giants, Conway had a successful NCAA career with Penn State University and Providence College between 2014 and 2019, recording 101 total points in 150 appearances. Conway was also part of the Friars roster that finished runner-up in the 2017 Friendship Four in Belfast. Having turned professional after leaving college, Conway made appearances for the Providence Bruins in the AHL and the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators, Orlando Solar Bears, and Allen Americans between 2019 and 2021, bagging 60 total points in 97 games.
After departing Belfast as a treble champion following the conclusion of the 2022/23 season, Conway signed with HK Dukla Trenčín for the 2023/24 campaign, helping the three-time Slovakian champions reach the Extraliga playoffs. After a successful season overseas, Conway made his triumphant return to the Giants for the 2024/25 season and has since scored more than 125 total points in 144 games across all competitions.
Commenting on re-signing with the Belfast Giants, Scott Conway said: “I am excited to be back home for the 2026/27 season. Although we retained our Elite League title last season, it was only one of three possible trophies, and we know the expectations we set for ourselves at this club demand more. I’m looking forward to getting back to Belfast and am excited for what’s to come this season.”
