The Belfast Giants made history in 2000, becoming the first professional ice hockey team on the island of Ireland. After three months on the road, the team took to their home ice in Belfast for the first time in December 2000. Their momentous sell-out opening night captured the hearts of an entire nation and started an ice hockey phenomenon that remains today.

Part of the Odyssey family, the Giants call The SSE Arena, Belfast home and have brought high energy ice hockey to millions of fans over the last 21 years.

After 18 months off the ice, The Belfast Giants are back. A team and a club reborn, we are ready to make up for lost time.

Introducing our new brand...

Wordmark

The BELFAST type mirrors the arc roof of The SSE Arena – home of the Belfast Giants and The Bridge that overlooks our home ice. As we look to the future, we haven’t forgotten our past. In a nod to the Celtic styling of the original Belfast Giants logo, there’s a subtle decorative stroke and angled cuts in our new wordmark and brand font.

Our Colours

TEAL – We are the Teal Army! Our new, stronger teal reflects how far we’ve come.

WHITE – Our away jersey colour, white lets our other colours breathe.

BLACK – introducing a new Causeway Black inspired by the bold and rugged landscapes of the land of Giants.

RED – Finn McCool’s red warrior mark represents strength and determination.

GOLD – symbolising a higher standard, our rich history of championship wins and future success.

Our new logo

Finn McCool is going nowhere. But after 21 years, he is a Giant Reborn.

We’ve kept the best bits of our original and alternate logos to create a fresh look that pays homage to our history, whilst looking to the future and the club we want to be tomorrow.

We’ve enhanced Finn’s flowing golden locks; enhanced his angular jaw; added his signature warrior mark; and a grimace, ready for battle.

He’s great in full colour. Or pared back too. He works big. And small But he’s always a GIANT.

In a digital-first age, our new brand is rooted in history but fit for the future.
