Gareth Roberts comes to the Giants through the ranks of the Junior Giants Development Programme and more recently the Castlereagh Spartans Ice Hockey Club. Gareth has been training with the Giants from the start of the season and his efforts were rewarded with his Senior debut on Saturday 11th December against the Dundee Stars.

Coach Doug Christiansen is pleased with the development of Roberts over the last few months and feels that he is continuing to improve each week.

“Gareth has been getting better and better each week and this is his reward for working hard every day in training and getting himself game ready. I can’t promise him any amount of ice time because I will see how the game goes, but this is the first step to earning a regular shift and a spot with the Giants on a permanent basis.”
