Biography

First joining the Giants for the 2018/19 season, the Saskatoon-born defenceman has made more than 225 appearances in teal, contributing over 160 total points from the blue line. The 6’1” Canadian, who has lifted eight trophies during his time in Belfast, the 33-year-old Canadian brings invaluable experience and leadership to the team’s defensive core.

After four successful seasons with the University of Saskatchewan, during which he tallied an impressive 118 total points in 147 appearances for the Huskies, Roach began his professional career in Belfast and recorded 69 total points in 81 games in all competitions during his first season. Following spells further afield in Europe and in North America with Black Wings Linz, Drake Canucks, and Kenaston Buzzards between 2019 and 2023, Roach returned to Belfast during the treble-winning 2022/23 season and has since iced on more than 145 occasions.
