Biography

Having iced over 170 times for the Giants between 2019 and 2023, the 31-year-old forward from St. Louis, Missouri spent two seasons as captain in Belfast before making the move to Spanish side CH Jaca ahead of the 2023/24 season, notching an impressive 28 total points in 11 appearances.

During his three spells with the Giants, Goodwin recorded 211 total points, including an outstanding 76 in 57 games during the treble-winning 2022/23 season. Goodwin returns to Belfast with a wealth of experience, having previously played for teams in North America, Finland, Sweden, and Poland in a professional career spanning over 350 games.

After a junior career in the USHL split between the Green Bay Gamblers, Sioux City Musketeers and Cedar Rapids Roughriders, Goodwin opted for college, joining the NCAA Big 10’s Penn State in 2013-14.

In his senior year, Goodwin was named as Captain and led his team to a Big 10 Championship, posting 38 points (11 goals, 27 assists) in 39 games played. He also received an NCAA Sportsmanship Award, and to this day ranks 12th in Penn State’s all-time scoring chart.

Brought in from Swedish side Mora IK by Adam Keefe and Steve Thornton to bolster the Giants’ offensive ranks midway through the 2019-20 season, Goodwin settled into life in Belfast quickly.

Prior to Sweden, he had spent two years with Finnish side SaiPa; continuing to show his ability as a playmaker and willingness to battle in front of the paint for greasy goals.

More recently, during the cancelled 2020-21 EIHL season, Goodwin found himself in Poland on a Silver Medal winning Cracovia Krakow squad, which featured a host of familiar names including Michael Gutwald, Luke Ferrara, and none other than Darcy Murphy.
