22-year-old Scottish forward Mark Garside is one of the best young players in Britain and is now in his second season with the Giants, having moved from the Edinburgh Capitals to join forces with his former coach Doug Christiansen.
Garside is a fantastic two-way player who can skate at either wing or centre where he is exceptional in the face-off circle. His quality and versatility have seen Mark represent Great Britain at the Under 18, Under 20 and Senior level.
After a fantastic start to his Giants career Mark was hampered by an ongoing ankle injury in the early season that kept him out of the lineup for 13 games. After a return to form late in the season he then suffered a shoulder injury in the playoff quarter finals that ended his season a couple of game prematurely and left him with a long summer of surgery and rehabilitation.
However, the speedy forward was still able to rack up a career-high 14 goals in the 44 league games he played, with 17 assists for a total of 31 points.
“Mark is a great two way player. He can play center or wing. He works hard everyday and is still improving. He has increased his scoring the last three seasons and will continue to improve in Belfast. He is exceptional on face-offs. “
