Darryl Lloyd joined the Giants in 2011/12 after playing four seasons in the East Coast Hockey League in North America, two with the Victoria Salmon Kings and two with the Kalamazoo Wings. In his first season with the Giants Lloyd was instrumental in the teams success as a result lifted the Elite League Championship.
Lloyd was selected as the Forward of The Year and the Giants MVP in 2012/13 after tallying 17 goals and 33 points in 54 games. His hard-hitting style of play has made him a fan favorite during his two seasons in Belfast and earned him a reputation as possibly the best open ice hitter in the Elite League.
“Darryl’s a player with tremendous speed and loves to play the game on the edge. He plays a hard-hitting game with offensive skill. We need players who pay the price to win and Lloyd will do that himself and inspire his teammates to do the same.”
