Darryl Lloyd joins the Giants after playing four seasons in the East Coast Hockey League in North America, two with the Victoria Salmon Kings and two with the Kalamazoo Wings. Playing for the Wings over the last 2 seasons the 195lbs 5’10 forward scored 32 goals and 62 assists including 51 points and 130 penalty minutes in 72 games last season. The 27 year-old Canadian also played with former Giants star Kory Karlander in Kalamazoo a year ago.
“Darryl’s a player with tremendous speed and loves to play the game on the edge,” said Coach Doug Christiansen. “He plays a hard-hitting game with offensive skill and everywhere he’s been he’s been a fan favourite. I believe he is the kind of player we missed last season. We need players who pay the price to win and Lloyd will do that himself and inspire his teammates to do the same.”
