Todd 'Killer' Kelman is now into his final season as a player with the Belfast Giants, and has the honour of retiring at the end of the season knowing he's played more games in a Giants shirt than anyone else. The last of the original Giants from the inaugural season in 2000, Kelman will move on to become the Coors Belfast Giants General Manager at the end of the season. Todd is a solid defender and an excellent skater who handles the puck well and has a very quick and accurate first pass. He patrols the blue line particularly well to kill penalties and avoids taking unnecessary penalty minutes. Todd likes to get on with the game, often scoring goals along the way. Since joining the club he's racked up an impressive 70 goals and over 200 points making him the highest scoring defenceman in team history and second on the all-time scorers list behind Jason Ruff.
While still in high school, Todd was drafted by NHL side the St Louis Blues (sixth round, 141st overall) in 1993 before moving on to Bowling Green State University. He played four years with the club before moving to Europe in 1997 signing for Superleague side the Bracknell Bees. In 2000 Todd signed for the Belfast Giants where he has been part of the furniture ever since. While at the Club, Kelman has played a huge part in the repeat success of the Belfast Giants, helping to win the Superleague title, the Playoff Championship, the British Knockout Cup and the Elite League Title last season.
