This is Huppe's third season with the Belfast Giants, during which time he has become an incredibly popular player with the Odyssey fans. He is a highly skilled forward, who likes to attack and create goal scoring opportunities. Despite missing over 10 games through injury last season, Curtis scored 33 goals and was beaten to the top goal scorer's spot in the league by his new teammate Mark Dutiaume. Huppe's contribution to our points tally went a long way to helping the Belfast Giants winning the Elite League Championship. Last season he played on the top line in the league with Ed Courtenay and Theo Fleury.
Curtis was born in 1979 in Winnipeg and after a successful amateur career in the Western Hockey League; he turned pro with the Greensboro Generals who play in the East Coast Hockey League. Curtis then moved to the South Carolina Stingrays where he had two highly successful seasons before moving to Europe for the first time. In his two previous seasons with the Giants, Curtis has scored 60 goals and added 58 assists. At 6ft 1in and weighing in at 195lbs, his size and strength are his best assets but his blistering shot is what sets him apart from other players and makes him one of the most prolific goal scorers in the league today.
