In his first season as a Giant and playing in the UK, Morin has certainly lived up to his reputation. It's hard getting used to a new league and lifestyle but Morin has made the adjustment well. He stands at 6.02 tall, is 26 years old and weighs in around 205lbs. Morin has racked up an impressive 291 penalty minutes over the last three seasons, a record that shows the toughness of his game. During the summer, Belfast Giants head coach Ed Courtenay was looking for a young guy who was be able to sustain longer periods on the ice as well as stand up for his team mates when required. Morin offers both; he's a strong defenseman and has the ability to be a playmaker too.

Still getting to grips with the new league, more is expected from Morin, as Courtenay believes he's one of the best defender in the Elite league. Jean Phillipe has spent the last three seasons playing for the Flint Generals in the United Hockey League but before that, he has spent a season playing alongside Shawn Skiehar at East Coast Hockey League team, the Louisiana Ice Gators.
