Local player, Gareth Martin has returned to the roster after a two-year gap for his second stint as a Belfast Giant. Rob Stewart originally signed him in 2003 along with Mark Morrison, Chris McGimpsey and Graeme Walton. Unfortunately he was dropped from the squad by coach Tony Hand the following season. It was a long wait, but Gareth is finally back in the squad and has a bright future ahead of him. Although he is one of the smallest players on the roster, Martin is proving himself worthy to play in the Elite league. Gareth went down in history as the first Belfast born player to score a goal in his first season with the Giants.
