Back for another spell in Britain, Campbell joined the Basingstoke Bison to start this season after spending two prolific seasons in the German Oberliga, where he notched up 180 points in a little under 100 games. Campbell's first spell with the Basingstoke Bison was back in 2002/03 where he recorded 51 points with the Herd in the BNL after joining from CHL outfit Fort Worth Brahmas.

A season in Germany followed where his performances attracted the attention of the Bracknell Bees. The next season he notched 27 goals and 57 points on the way to claiming a BNL playoff winners medal with the Bees. His move to the Giants was a controversial one after asking for his release from the team he signed with in the summer. He netted 2 goals and 2 assists in his first game with the Coors Belfast Giants and is destined to become a huge fan favourite with the Odyssey faithful.
