Date of Birth: 26/11/86
Height: 6ft0″      Weight: 175lbs
Catches: Left    Birthpace: Merthyr Tydfil, Wales

Nathan returns to the Giants for a third consecutive season and fourth overall as the back-up netminder. The 23 year old has been named by many in the Giants organization as the best insurance policy in the league, and has proven himself to the Giants fans by winning some huge games for the team in the past, including playing in several rounds of the successful Knockout Cup campaign in 2008/09. Craze originally played for the Giants in their championship season of 2005-06, coming in on emergency duty to replace injured netminder Mike Minard, and eventually taking over as the number two netminder after winning key games on route to the Giants’ Elite League title triumph.

After his success with the Giants, Nathan returned to the English Premier League to improve himself as a starting netminder, playing for both the Bracknell Bees and the Swindon Wildcats. Nathan led the Bees to the Playoff Title in 2006-07, picking up a League All-Star selection along the way. Craze was selected as a member of Team GB’s world championship squad, having been called in as emergency cover in 2009, showing that others have faith in Craze’s ability to perform at a high level.

Head Coach Christiansen was relieved to secure Craze for the forthcoming season, having initially thought he was going to sign as starting netminder elsewhere. GM Kelman is pleased to have Craze back; “With our travel schedule it is important to have cover for your most important position in case fatigue, sickness or injuries happen. Craze gets better every year and isn’t far off from landing himself a starting job in this league.”

Coaches Comments

“Craze gets better every year and is hungrier than ever to improve now that he has tasted success at this level. He will push Murphy every day in practice and competition is healthy in hockey.”
