Belfast Giants and Stena Line Celebrate Landmark Partnership With New Two-Year Agreement

The renewal marks a significant milestone in one of the club’s longest-standing and successful partnerships, with the upcoming campaign representing the 18th season that the Belfast Giants and Stena Line have worked together. Over the course of the relationship, the Belfast Giants have developed into one of the Motorpoint Elite League’s most dominant and best-supported clubs, amassing multiple championships, while regularly breaking attendance and season ticket holder records.

Over the same period, Stena Line has continued to strengthen its position as one of Europe’s leading ferry operators, investing significantly in its Belfast operations and providing vital connections between Northern Ireland and Great Britain for millions of passengers each year. Stena Line has also played a vital role in transporting the Giants to and from Scotland for the team’s fixtures against the Glasgow Clan, Dundee Stars, and Fife Flyers.

Steve Thornton, Sports Director at The Odyssey Trust, said: “In professional sport, partnerships of this length are incredibly rare, which makes what we’ve built with Stena Line all the more special. This season marks 18 years of working together, and that longevity says everything about the strength of the relationship between our two organisations. Throughout the relationship, there has always been a shared belief in delivering first-class experiences for people. Whether that’s creating unforgettable nights for our fans or helping passengers travel across the Irish Sea, both organisations place people at the heart of everything they do.

“We’re incredibly proud that Stena Line’s story continues alongside ours. Their support has become woven into the fabric of the Belfast Giants, and we’re delighted to extend our partnership for another two seasons.”

As the partnership extends to over a decade and a half, Stena Line’s branding will once again feature prominently throughout the Belfast Giants game night experience, including on the back of all jerseys, rink boards, and on-ice branding at The O2 Belfast. Fans can also look forward to the return of the ever-popular Stena Line Chuck-a-Puck, giving supporters the opportunity at every home game to win a range of prizes, including signed Belfast Giants jerseys, game tickets, and Stena Line ferry travel.

Paul Grant, Irish Sea North Trade Director at Stena Line, commented: “Our partnership with the Belfast Giants has always been about much more than sport. At Stena Line, we’ve spent decades connecting people, businesses, and communities across the Irish Sea, and we’ve seen the Belfast Giants make a similar contribution through the passion of their fans, their charitable work, and their contribution to communities across Belfast. Since they took to the ice in 2000, they have become one of Northern Ireland’s great sporting success stories, and we’re proud that we’ve been a vital part of that journey over the last 18 years.

“We’re delighted that we continue to be part of the Teal Army and look forward to supporting the club and its loyal supporters as they enter their next chapter.”

The Belfast Giants return to action in a home double-header of pre-season fixtures against the Herlev Eagles on Friday 28 and Sunday 30 August. For more information or to purchase tickets, please click here.
