Belfast Giants Sign Experienced Swedish Forward Marcus Eriksson

The Belfast Giants are pleased to confirm the signing of 39-year-old forward Marcus Eriksson for the 2025/26 season.
From Norrköping, Eriksson has spent more than two decades representing teams across Sweden, including IK Vita Hästen, IF Troja-Ljungby, IK Guts, Södertälje SK, and Skellefteå AIK, recording more than 700 combined appearances. Known for his vision, composure, and consistency, Eriksson has recorded hundreds of career points, establishing himself as an ever-present offensive playmaker.
Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: "Marcus is a player with great vision, experience, and professionalism. He’s played at a high level in Sweden for a long time and will bring real creativity and intelligence to our offence. He excels on the power play, which is such an important part of every game. We’re excited to welcome him here in Belfast."
Eriksson has spent the majority of his career representing HC Vita Hästen, playing 16 seasons for his hometown side. The former HockeyAllsvenskan MVP had a standout 2023/24 season, voted ‘Forward of the Year’ and picking up accolades for most points and most assists.
Commenting on joining the Belfast Giants, Marcus Eriksson said: “I’ve enjoyed a long career in Sweden, but was ready for a new experience and challenge. I’m really excited to be joining the Giants, and to test myself in the Elite League. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the group and help the team compete for trophies this season.”
