Belfast Giants Add Jason Fram to Roster

From Vancouver, the defenceman joins the Giants following a strong season in Glasgow, during which he contributed 28 total points in 67 games as the Clan made it to their first Playoff Finals Weekend in 12 years. Before arriving in the Motorpoint Elite League, Fram made more than 240 appearances for teams across North America, China, and Italy, including the San Jose Barracuda, Allen Americans, Kunlun Red Star, KRS-BSU Beijing, and Asiago.

Before turning professional, Fram enjoyed three seasons with the University of Alberta between 2016 and 2019, recording an impressive 61 total points in 69 regular-season games for the Golden Bears. During his decorated collegiate career, Fram accumulated a number of accolades, including being named a two-time USports All-Canadian First Team member and two-time USports Defenceman of the Year, as well as being crowned a USports University Cup champion in 2018.

Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: “Jason is a very mobile defenceman who has a good hockey IQ. His experience and understanding of this league make the transition easy. He's a very good person and should fit straight into our group. I'm looking forward to working with him."

At international level, Fram has made 13 appearances for Team China, including four at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, and picked up the World Championship Division II gold medal and the World Championship Division I bronze medal in 2022/23.
