Kupsky Re-Signs for Second Season in Belfast
The Belfast Giants are proud to announce the re-signing of 30-year-old Jake Kupsky for the 2026/27 season.
From Waukesha, the Wisconsin-born netminder returns for his second spell and first full season in Belfast, having initially joined midway through the 2025/26 campaign. One of the deserved recipients of the club’s Unsung Hero Award, Elite League-winning Kupsky made a sizeable impact in his 17 games, 12 of which were victories, recording a 2.12 goals against average, 0.920 save percentage, and three shutouts.
Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: “Kupper [Jake Kupsky] was outstanding for us last season. Having joined at a time when we were short-bodied and in need of a boost, he gave us exactly that. From the get-go, he was solid between the pipes and kept us in some crucial games towards the business end of the season. Straightaway, Kupper fit into our culture and organisation, and paired with his work ethic, attitude, and winning mindset, he’s a very important guy for us to have retained for another year."
Following a successful NCAA career with Union College, Kupsky spent four seasons icing for teams across the SPHL, ECHL, and AHL, making a combined 102 appearances for the Pensacola Ice Flyers, Idaho Steelheads, Greenville Swamp Rabbits, South Carolina Stingrays, Colorado Eagles, and Abbotsford Canucks between 2019 and 2023. Kupsky’s first inroads into European hockey came with Slovakian side HKM Zvolen, after which he made 37 appearances for the Guildford Flames between 2024 and 2026.
Commenting on re-signing with the Belfast Giants, Jake Kupsky said: “I absolutely loved my time in Belfast last year. The people, the fans, and everyone around the organisation made me feel at home from day one. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return for a full season and continue building something special with this group. I can't wait to get back on the ice and see everyone again soon."
