Belfast Giants to Face Denmark's Herlev Eagles in Pre-Season Double-Header

Led by Johan Åkerman, the Eagles will head to Belfast looking to put Adam Keefe's new-look team to the test before the 2026/27 campaign gets underway. After a strong 2025/26 season, which saw the Copenhagen-based side finish runner-up in the Metal Ligaen, the Eagles will arrive at The O2 Belfast full of renewed confidence and keen to carry their good form into the new season.

Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: "We're looking forward to welcoming the Eagles to Belfast and using these two important fixtures to benchmark where we're at. Playing teams from other leagues and countries is important for our group, as it adds an extra layer of unpredictability and a need to find our feet more quickly. These games will be a great test against a great organisation."

The games also mark an exciting opportunity for the Giants to welcome the Teal Army back to The O2 Belfast after another busy summer of recruitment, with fans getting their first look at the club's newest additions alongside familiar faces returning for the new season.

Guillaume Doucet, General Manager of the Herlev Eagles, commented: "We're very excited to bring the Herlev Eagles to Belfast for what will be a great pre-season test against the Giants. Playing in a passionate hockey environment against a strong organisation is exactly the kind of experience we want for our group as we prepare for the new season, and we're looking forward to a competitive and entertaining weekend of hockey."

Tickets for this double-header will be available to purchase from 12PM Friday 10 July via Ticketmaster.ie.
