Belfast Giants Continue to Grow Local Talent With Addition of Harvey Wooldridge

A product of the Junior Belfast Giants programme, the 19-year-old forward makes his first leap into professional ice hockey, having spent three seasons with the Connecticut RoughRiders between 2024 and 2026. After gaining invaluable experience on the East Coast of the United States, during which he contributed 17 points in 85 appearances, Wooldridge returns to the UK to continue his development with the Giants and Pitbulls.

Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: “Harvey has impressed over the last two summers while skating with us. He is young, skates well, and has good size. This summer, I thought he took that extra step competitively, which has given him this opportunity here with us at training camp. I look forward to working with Harvey and the guys at Bristol this season.”

A strong two-way centre who arrives with strong skating ability, Wooldridge’s size and mobility, coupled with his ability to compete in the hard areas of the ice, make him an exciting addition to the Giants’ two-way options this season.

Richie Hargreaves, Owner of Bristol Pitbulls, commented: “We’re really excited for Harvey to be given the opportunity to learn the ropes and understand the traits and standards required of a professional within a fantastic organisation with a winning culture. As a homegrown player, it’s particularly exciting for Harvey to have this chance. Developing players and helping them progress is something we’re extremely proud of and will always encourage.

I was fortunate enough to come through the Junior Giants pathway, which opened many doors for developmental opportunities, and now the opportunity to link up with the Giants is a huge step forward and one I am truly grateful for. The opportunity to represent my hometown team means a lot, and I can’t wait to get started.”
