Giants Update Following EIHL Funding Statement
Following the Elite Ice Hockey League’s announcement regarding funding for ice hockey across the UK, we would like to provide a short update in relation to ongoing efforts to secure sustainability funding to support the Belfast Giants.
Steve Thornton, Head of Hockey, The Odyssey Trust said: "In Northern Ireland, the Sports Sustainability Fund was open to ice hockey as a sport. Applications closed in the last few weeks and we are awaiting a response to our application.
"We have longstanding and valued relationships with the Department for Communities and Sport NI and will continue to keep dialogue open as we explore all options available for funding that will support a return to ice hockey in Belfast.
"We will also continue to work with the EIHL Board to explore all potential support that will help all clubs build towards the return of the League."
