Susan is no stranger to our season ticket holders! Going into her fifth season with the team Susan has loved every minute of working with the Giants and their dedicated fans!
What did you do before you worked here, or did you end up in your role?
I have been a fan of the Giants since day one and I previously worked in the arena box office since 2009. With a great level of customer service and ticketing experience, I joined the Giants full-time in 2015 and I am responsible for all aspects of Giants ticketing including season tickets, group bookings and corporate hospitality.

What is a typical game day like for you?
Typical games days are hectic start to finish, but I love it! Depending on the game day I will usually arrive at 8 am and will start my day by answering emails and organising tickets for all the amazing Giants fans, players and sponsors. I help with organising birthday announcements, meet and greets after the game and other special requests.
What’s the biggest change you’ve seen in the Belfast Giants since you have joined the team?
I would have to say technology. Technology and social media especially have really made a big impact on the Giants in such a positive way! Beforehand, the only way our fans could receive information and updates was through emails. Technology and social media have completed transformed this! Fans now have more interaction with the team, they can receive updates quicker and feel more engaged and apart of the Giants family.
What has been the Belfast Giants biggest achievement?
I think their biggest achievement is their charity work. It’s the behind the scenes part of the team that people don’t see is what sets the Giants head and shoulders above the rest. An example, the Teddy Toss. Each year during one of our Christmas games after the Giants have scored their first goal of the match, the entire arena filled with fans throw teddies onto the ice which are collected and donated to varies charities. The Giants work closely with Laura Small, who helps to provide a fun day out for families in difficult circumstances.
What’s the favorite part of your job?
I suppose the obvious one is getting to work alongside the team that I absolutely love! Being involved and seeing insights into backstage that I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of working on when being a season ticket holder. And of course, I must mention the season ticket holders. I love interacting with these guys as they are such dedicated fans.
What makes you proud to be a part of the Belfast Giants?
I would have to say what makes me most proud is getting to work in the community and see the difference that this team makes to it.
Is this going to be the Belfast Giants best season?
Without a shadow of a doubt!! We are entering our 20th Anniversary season, hosting Champions Hockey League games for the first time and involved in the Challenge Cup again. We are certainly building on the success of last year and our head coach Adam is going to do a great job leading us there!
