The Stena Line Belfast Giants are proud to announce the return of Andrew Dickson for their 15th Season and the netminder’s fourth with the organisation.
Dickson, 26, from Ballymoney, will play behind British Netminder of the Year, Stephen Murphy as the Giants defend their Elite League title. Dickson has fulfilled this role with the Giants full-time for the past three seasons, winning the Elite League Championship twice, in 2012 and last season when he had a stand out year, claiming his first professional win at the Odyssey Arena on 16th March against the Braehead Clan and followed up with an impressive second only days later against defending Elite League champions, the Nottingham Panthers.
Head of Hockey operations Steve Thornton spoke about Dickson’s return, “I am very pleased to have Andrew back. Dickson knows what I expect of him and I believe he will take full advantage of his role and continue to improve.”
“He works hard and the rest of the team love having him around and respect the job that he does. Andrew is a fun guy, a great teammate, but also understands that he has to train harder than anyone if he wants to continue improving year on year.”
“Northern Ireland should be proud of one of their own putting in the effort and commitment week on week to make it at this level. I recognise that Due to a lack of facilities, Andrew was at a disadvantage over players in England, Scotland and Wales, but he has persevered and improved to the level we would expect of someone in his position at Elite League level.”

Tickets are available online from Ticketmaster and from the Odyssey Arena Box Office in person or by calling (028) – no longer available -.
