It’s official – The Stena Line Belfast Giants will start the Continental Cup this October in Landshut Germany. The Giants will play 3 games in 3 nights against Geleen from the Netherlands, the host team from Landshut, and the winner of the first round of the tournament.
This will be only the 2nd time in franchise history that the Giants will participate in the Continental Cup. In 2002, the Giants won their 3rd round competition to advance to the Super Finals in Lugano. That year, the Giants impressed against some of the best teams in Europe, even beating the defending Swiss Champions at the time, Davos.
The tournament will take place in Landshut from October 19th to 21st, with the Giants playing games on 3 consecutive days. The schedule has not been confirmed as of yet, but games will likely take place at 4:00pm and 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday with the potential for an earlier start on Sunday with games at 2pm and 6pm although which times the Giants will play has not been determined.

Aer Lingus has flights to Munich from Dublin daily. Easyjet also flies to Munich via London.
