4 Championships/Cups & Conference titles with Belfast Giants
2 All Star Selections, OJHL & EIHL
83 Goals for Belfast Giants (and counting)
15 The 9th Belfast Giant to sport the #15 jersey

Returning for this third campaign in Teal, Darcy Murphy needs no introduction. The first ever Belfast Giant to tally 50 goals in a single season, ‘Darcy Dangles’ is back where he belongs, and ready to pick up right where he left off.

It’s easy to see why this energetic, free-scoring and creative forward returns to Belfast as a fan favourite.

The 29-year-old winger from Belleville, Ontario returns to Adam Keefe’s side with his Championship credentials proven beyond all doubt, having captured two Challenge Cups (17/18 and 18/19), an EIHL League title (18/19) and an Erhardt Conference title (18/19) during his first two-year stint with the Belfast Giants.

A breakout year in 2018/19 earned Murphy a place on the EIHL’s All-Star First Team; an EIHL Forward of the Year accolade; the award for Best Forward in the Continental Cup; and nods for the EIHL’s most goals (39) and most points (79).

A Championship-winning product of the Ontario Junior (A) Hockey League, Murphy had his first taste of hockey in Belfast when he took part in the inaugural Friendship Four tournament with NCAA D1 side Colgate University.

Murphy’s leadership qualities were acknowledged with the Rob Ries Award in his senior year at Colgate, earning him an Assistant Captaincy before a move into the ECHL and AHL after graduation.

He returns to Belfast after spells in Germany, Switzerland and most recently, a silver medal campaign in Poland with Cracovia Krakow.
