The Stena Line Belfast Giants made it a weekend double over the Fife Flyers with a 2-1 victory on Saturday night in Belfast.
A brace from Pat Dwyer saw the Giants make it two wins in as many nights against the Flyers ahead of Sunday’s road game against the Milton Keynes Lightning.
Tyler Beskorowany backstopped Belfast to the win with the home side missing Guillaume Gelinas, David Rutherford, and Andrew Dickson.
Fife Equalise After Dwyer Edges Giants Ahead
Patrick Dwyer opened the scoring at 4:54, when the forward followed up on his own rebound and batted the puck past Shane Owen in the Flyers goal.
Mike Cazzola equalised for the visitors at 11:22, pouncing on a Giants giveaway, to score shorthanded.
Dwyer’s Second Restores Hosts Lead
Pat Dwyer grabbed his and his team’s second of the night at 38:50 when Kyle Baun’s effort fell to the forward at be back post for a simple finish.

Tyler Beskorowany and the Giants defence withstood late pressure from the Flyers though the home side stood firm and made sure of a weekend double over Fife.

The Giants now travel to Milton Keynes on Sunday before facing the Glasgow Clan on Tuesday in the Challenge Cup Semi-Final 1st Leg.
Next at home is Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February with back-to-back home games against the Coventry Blaze and Nottingham Panthers respectively.
