Peacock Inks 2 Year Deal With The Giants

The Stena Line Belfast Giants are pleased to announce the re-signing of British forward Craig Peacock for the next 2 years welcoming back another player that was instrumental in the Giants success this past season.

After a brief spell with Frederikshavn in Denmark at the beginning of last year, the 25-year-old forward from Peterborough, England returned to Belfast for his 5th season in teal and contributed 23 goals and 11 assists, helping the Giants to the Elite League Championship.

In his time with the Giants, Peacock has won three major championships, Elite League Titles in 2012 and 2014 as well as the Playoff Championship in 2010.

Craig has become a firm fan favourite, and currently sits 3rd all time in scoring with 251 points in 286 games, with only George Awada and Colin Shields scoring more points in a Giants jersey.

General Manager Todd Kelman, who was a driving force in bringing Craig Peacock to Belfast in 2009, spoke of his delight in Peacock’s re-signing.

“We signed Peaks when he was just a kid and he has grown into one of the top British players in this league. We are excited to get him back in Belfast where he belongs for at least another 2 years, and we hope to have him here for a long time.”

“He is a natural scorer and has been a part of some big moments in Giants history playing a key role on the Championship teams he has been a part of. I know our fans will be pleased to have him back in Belfast and I know he is excited to be coming back here.”

The GB International is currently recovering from an injury sustained in the first leg of the playoff quarterfinals in Hull and is excited about getting back on the ice with Giants to prepare for the upcoming season.

“It was an easy decision for me to sign back in Belfast, it’s like home to me now. Everything from the top down is first class and the Giants are a great organisation to be a part of. I’ve enjoyed the past 5 seasons and I’m really excited to be coming back to defend the league title and hopefully win some more silverware.”
