23 year-old Dowd joins the Giants after 3 seasons with the Sheffield Steelers where he won 2 playoff medals and 2 league championships. Last year he ended the season having scored 27 goals and earning 34 assists for a total of 61 points. The Billingham native finished fourth in the league for British scoring and saw himself earning a spot on the Senior GB National Team. Previous to this he had appeared at the international level 6 times – twice with the Under 18s, twice with the Under 20s and twice with the Seniors. The young Brit will be one of the Giants’ key domestic players and despite his age, opponents will need to take into account his speed and skill as he has no problem finding the back of the net.
