The longest serving Captain in Giants history, the legendary George Awada retuns to the Giants after a season in retirement. Awada who is back living in Northern Ireland was contacted by Coach Doug Christiansen to see if he was willing to get back on the ice with his old team.

Early season injuries to current Giants captain Jeremy Rebek and forward Jon Pelle left the Giants with an open spot for an import player and Awada was asked to fill the spot on a temporary basis. Despite a years absence the former Giants captain has made an instant impact.
