G.P. with specialist interest in sport. Having graduated in 1999 sarah developed a keen interest in sports medicine. A former swimmer herself she has been working with the Belfast Giants for the last 8 years. She is a member of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Previously Sarah has also worked for the Irish Football Association (Doctor to the Womens National Team) and Bangor F.C. Sarah was also the Chief Medical Officer for the Northern Ireland branch of the British Boxing Board of Control. She is still heavily involved in swimming both competing and as team doctor to Ards Swimming Club. Sarah is kept busy at home also looking after her two sons, Finn and Luca.
Andy initially began working for the Belfast Giants as team physiotherapist 8 years ago. Prior to this he had been working in Australia with the NSW Warratahs (Super Rugby) and the Adelaide Crows (AFL). Andy came back to the UK to study medicine and in the 2008-9 and 2009-10 stood in for sarah as team doctor whilst she was on maternity leave.
Andy is currently National Team Doctor for the Irish Football Association. He is a ringside medical officer for the British Boxing Board of Control. A former International Schoolboy football international, Andy has also represented the Irish Universities at football. Previous experience includes working with the English Football Association and the Australian Institute of Sport.
Billy has been involved with the Giants for the past number of years. He is a chartered physiotherapist and runs his own private practice. Billy’s qualifications not only apply to physiotherapy but also a number of sports including swimming, football and athletics. He has been involved at the highest level and has gained numerous qualifications including a UEFA ‘A’ license in coaching football, and is also qualified to coach athletics and swimming.
As well as being a member of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine and the English football League Medical Association, Billy also has a diploma in the treatment, management and rehabilitation of sports injuries, an invaluable tool when aiming to keep all Giants on the ice!
This will be Eva’s fourth season with the Giants. Having completed a degree in sports science and diplomas in sports massage and strength and conditioning, Eva is now in her final year of a physiotherapy degree. Eva is an international athlete, having represented Northern Ireland, Ireland and Great Britain.
