I’m writing this blog the morning after our big win at home against Nottingham. That was a really great win for our team, especially after giving up three unanswered goals in the middle of the second period. Murph played great, and Peacs had a great goal to ice it late in the third. Hopefully as you are reading this we will have beat Nottingham at their place for the weekend sweep. They are a really good team and its going to take a great game by everyone but I’m confident that we can pull it off.
I’m not sure what other people have been writing in their blogs but I figured I’d talk about one of the things that my roommate, Michael Jacobsen, and I do when we aren’t at the rink skating or in the gym training. As you may have imagined, we watch a lot of TV. Specifically, we keep up to date on shows from back home that aren’t always on over here. These include Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office (the American version) 30 Rock, and Mad Men. The first three are obviously comedies and the third is a relatively under the radar show even back home. It is a show about an advertising agency in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. The show focuses mostly on the relationships between the characters while working in some of the important themes from that time period. It’s one of the best shows that I have seen since HBO’s The Wire. If you haven’t seen The Wire then drop everything you are doing and go out and buy it on DVD. It’s the best show ever created. Trust me on this one.
To finish I thought I’d talk about how cool the Christmas Market in city center is. We went down there on the day that it opened to check it out and were all very impressed. I think you could go there every day for a week and have a different meal for lunch. I especially enjoyed the tent where they served burgers with all different types of meat. I tried an ostrich burger and it was awesome. Although I would have liked a little cheese on it.
Anyway that’s it. Keep coming to the games and we will keep winning them!
