LBM Belfast Giants have been dealt a huge blow with news that forward, Brandon Benedict has been diagnosed with a broken jaw after a clash in the Challenge Cup Semi Final against the Cardiff Devils on Wednesday night. However, Brandon underwent surgery yesterday that went better than had been expected. There has yet to be a time frame put upon Benedict’s recovery, however this should become clear after a specialist opinion is sought.

General Manager Todd Kelman, speaking after hearing the news, “This terrible news has come at a bad time for us. Brandon has been one of our better performers of late and is currently fourth in the Elite League’s points standings with 18 goals and 43 assists. We wish him well through what will be a tough recovery period. Brandon will be attending an appointment with a specialist early next week to determine the time frame for his recovery and we hope to hear some encouraging news from that.”
