Well its official, this is my first ever Blog. I’m not really sure what a blog is all about anyhow. Do you just ramble on and on about trivial stuff? Because I can do that, like the other day when I was driving into town. Why is it that cars can just park on the side of the road? I mean there was two lanes and then whammo! One lane. Then begins the careful dance between you go, no you go, no you go, and so on. Then there are those that drive right up behind the parked car and stop then put on their signal and don’t get me started on crossing the street to park on the other side, It’s maddening!!
Anyway, let’s talk about great arrivals. With the arrival of Jason Rushton it seems like a fitting time to look back at some of the most highly anticipated arrivals. We can start with our present day coach, Steve Thornton. Steve first arrived with the Giants when we were really hit hard with injuries and were looking for someone to add some spin-o-ramas and T-stops to the line up and Steve fit the bill perfectly. With his patented T-stop he dazzled his way a top spot in the line up and a championship.
Then there was the great return of Sean “Back in Belfast” Berens. With such an incredible first spell with the Giants the 2nd time could only be that much better. Well, after his hit record “Back in Belfast”, it seemed Sean was back in Chicago before we knew it.
Without question the greatest and most anticipated arrival was that of Theo Fleury, a legend in hockey. Theo was never going to disappoint, the whole night was a bit of a blur, but what I do recall is Theo having 6 or 7 points and beating up the other team’s tough guy. How can you top that?
This weekend marks the official arrival of Jason Rushton for the Giants. Those of you who have been on Youtube checking out are new signing will surely get to see just what we have this weekend. Will he score seven points? Will we win another championship? Will he leave to go to Chicago? Only Jason knows what kind of debut he is going to make, and I for what can’t wait to see it.
Blogging off,
Shane
