Gilnahirk Primary School

Shouting and cheering could be heard outside the school gates today at Gilnahirk Primary School as a P6 class were taken through their paces by Colin Shields Captain of the LBM Belfast Giants, as part of the Giants’ and Tesco’s ‘Get Fit’ Programme. The class were exhausted by the end of the afternoon session, they raced, played ‘ball monster’ and even finished up with an exciting match when the ‘Colins Giants’ faced off against the ‘All Stars’.

“The children really enjoyed it, they worked so hard and had great fun!” said Ester Bloch the local Tesco Community Champion. As part of the programme, Tesco are sponsoring the class to come along to the 19th February game when the Belfast Giants face the Sheffield Steelers, Colin is looking forward to seeing the class there!
