The Aer Lingus Belfast Giants have teamed up with Unite Against Hate for the final game of their season to celebrate the work the Giants and Unite Against Hate are doing throughout the Northern Ireland communities at large. Giants Mark Garside and Kaspars Astasenko were joined by Unite Against Hate Ambassadors Katie Larmour and Pete Snodden outside the Odyssey Arena to promote Unite Against Hate which is a multi-agency initiative set up to challenge motions of prejudice and hate crime throughout Northern Ireland.
Giants Manager Todd Kelman explained “The Giants pride ourselves on the work we do in the community through our school programmes and our Giants Community Foundation. Teaming up with Unite Against Hate is a perfect fit for us because we both are working to promote understanding between people with different backgrounds. We also wanted to celebrate with all the young people that our players have gotten to know over the course of the season. The Giants and Unite Against Hate wanted to promote the campaign on a large scale and get all the different communities together for one event. That event just happens to be our playoff game on March 26th at the Odyssey Arena.”
