The Belfast Giants Selects coaching staff is pleased to announce the addition of four new players to the roster for the October 2nd game against the Boston Bruins.  The Boston Bruins are one of the NHL’s original six franchises and are coming to Belfast for the first ever match-up between the Elite Ice Hockey League and the NHL.

Richard Seeley, a defender, from the Belfast Giants has been selected. Seeley has played in 399 AHL games and is one of the Giants captains for the 2010-11 season. He has been a captain of 3 different AHL teams.

Ashley Tait is the second Sheffield Steeler to be selected. Tait is one of the top British forwards in the EIHL. In 2008-09, he helped led the Sheffield Steelers to the regular season and play-off titles.

From the Nottingham Panthers, Jade Galbraith has been added to the roster. Galbraith finished second in the EIHL in scoring in 2009-10 and is known throughout the league for his great hands and patience with the puck.  He joins Corey Neilson from the Panthers in the line-up against the Bruins.

Dan Carlson from the Coventry Blaze is no stranger to big games. Carlson is one of the most complete players in the EIHL and is deserving of a spot on the roster.  Carlson led the Coventry Blaze to the 2009-10 Elite League Championship.

Belfast Giants Selects coach Doug Christiansen commented, “these four players are an indication that we are not just trying to have an All-Star team. We are looking for a complete team that can push the Bruins for 60 minutes.

Ashley Tait is a player who can play on any line and grind and skate with the Bruins. He has a great work ethic and does all the little things well.

Carlson is another player who knows the game and can help the EIHL on the penalty kill and five-on-five. In my opinion, he is the most underrated player in the league.

Galbraith is magical on the puck. We need someone who can be crafty and create against the Bruins defense. He is a player who has shown how skilled he is. The Giants Selects are looking for him to have an impact.

Rich Seeley is arguably the best defender in the league. He is a career AHL defender and is a guy who we expect to be a rock for us. His playing CV is second to none in the EIHL and he should be fantastic for the Giants Selects.

The Boston Bruins match against the Elite League All-Stars takes place on Saturday, October 2nd in Belfast. Tickets are available starting at £40.50. Book your seats now by logging onto www.ticketmaster.ie or by calling the Odyssey Box Office on (028) 9073 9074 or Ticketmaster on 0844 2774455.
