On Sunday at 1pm GMT, the Stena Line Belfast Giants face-off against HSC Csikszereda, the champions of Romania in their third of three Continental Cup Round 2 games. HSC Csikszereda qualified for the Continental Cup Second Round thanks to a dominating display in Romania when they hosted the first round in October, scoring thirty six goals on their way to qualification. The Romanian outfit earned their right to the 2012/13 Continental Cup thanks to their sixth Romanian Championship in a row in the 2011/12 Season.
So far in the Continental Cup, HSC Csikszereda have lost both games against Geleen (3-2) & Landshut (2-0), however the scores do little justice for the Romanians who can count themselves unfortunate to have lost both games. Likewise, the Belfast Giants have had flattering scores for very different reasons, a 11-1 win against Geleen & a 7-1 loss against the host team, the Landshut Cannibals.
The Stena Line Belfast Giants, buoyed on by a fantastic contingent of travelling fans will be hoping to end their first Continental Cup in ten years on a high note with a win against HSC Csikszereda.
