After finding out last week that the All-Star teams would contain four of their players, the LBM Belfast Giants have had defenceman Tim Cook added to the Overseas All-Stars roster. Cook’s selection will not come as a surprise to many after his solid defence, impressive offence and no nonsense play have been on display throughout the 2009/10 season to date. Coach of the Overseas All-Stars, Corey Neilson has this to say on Belfast’s latest All-Star, “Tim Cook has been a great signing by Belfast and I am excited to have him in my All-Star line-up.”
With the 2010 Elite League All-Stars match just two weeks away, the two coaches have also revealed more additions to their squads.
Dave Matsos, coach of the British Elite All-Stars, has selected Nottingham’s Danny Meyers as one of his defencemen. Meanwhile, David Longstaff, who was an original choice by Matsos, has had to pull out with injury – he has been replaced by Hull Stingrays’ Lee Mitchell.
Corey Neilson’s Overseas All-Stars squad has also been hit by injury with the withdrawal of Sheffield’s Rod Sarich. His team-mate Kevin Bolibruck will replace him.
The 2010 All-Stars game takes place at Ice Sheffield on Wednesday 27th January and tickets are available at £15 (adult), £10 (concession), £7 (Under 16) and a family ticket is priced at £38. The ticket office is open from 9am until 5pm, or you can book tickets by calling 0114 242 3535 (credit cards accepted).
