The Stena Line Belfast Giants are pleased to announce the return of forwards Darryl Lloyd and Mark Garside for the organisation’s 15th Season. The signings of Lloyd and Garside have already been unofficially confirmed and both were part of last season’s record breaking Elite League Championship winning side, their second major championship with the Giants after clinching the title in the 2011/12 season.
During the 2013/14 season Darryl Lloyd, 30, tallied 10 goals and 22 points in 53 games played. His hard-hitting style of play has made him a fan favourite during his three seasons in Belfast and earned him a reputation as possibly the best open ice hitter in the Elite League.
Mark Garside, 25, posted 3 goals and 13 assists, good for 16 points last season. The 2014/15 season will be Garside’s fifth as a Belfast Giant following four previous years spent with the Edinburgh Capitals.
Both players are currently out of the country, with Lloyd returning to North America for the Summer and Garside currently in action for Team GB at the World Championships in Lithuania but both put pen to paper before departing. The Giants will announce more signing news, including a new head coach, in the coming days.
